This paper addresses a smart tool for visualizing dense street crossing/corner area using Google Map and Google Street View,
which intends to reduce risk of crash accidents at corners. Since risk of traffic accidents in driving a car reaches
approximately 60% of traffic accidents in Japan, there exists strong need to check whether areas including crossings or
corners have factors inducing such accidents or not. To achieve such task without actual visit of areas, the proposed tool
detects dense street crossing/corner area using image processing techniques and clustering algorithm, and visualizes panorama
walk-through scenes along with paths in the area. Experimental results are also discussed the effectiveness of this tool. |
